Chula Vista is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Chula Vista is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

AmarΓs was excellent and serviceable and friendly. The pan con lechΓ³n was great! The yuca frita was delicious. The guava pastry wasnβt overly sweet and had that sweet, authentic Cuban taste. Overall the vibe was awesome with a rich Latino cultural sense and pride. I would recommend to anyone.

We recently visited House of Cuban Flavor and had a great experience from start to finish. The food was fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced for the quality you receive. They have a special that includes half a Cuban sandwich, a canned drink, a potato ball and French fries. The Cuban sandwich was savory and packed with flavor. We also tried the guava pastries, which had just the right amount of sweetness and a perfectly flaky crust. The empanadas were another highlight--especially the spicy chicken, spinach and cheese and pork varieties. Unlike some places that use a pie-crust-style dough, these had an authentic, light, and flaky crust that made them stand out. The jalapeΓ±o and cheese potato ball was cooked with the right amount of crisp on the outer part and the soft fluffy potato on the inside. The restaurant itself is small with outdoor tables available if you'd like to enjoy your meal there. We also appreciated the window photos of their menu items. What really elevated our visit was the customer service. Guillermo was friendly, attentive, outgoing, and knowledgeable. He took the time to answer questions, make recommendations, and ensure we had a great experience. If yo

Need your Cuban food cravings to be satisfied? This is the spot in South Bay...probably the only spot you'll find! Small cozy Mom and Pop type of operation. Sorry no food photos due to being overly hungry and forgetful. Yummy potato balls and empanadas. Cuban sandwich was on point and always have to have the Fresh Tasty pastries that rival Porto's...without having to drive 2 hours north. It's a must to support a small business especially one that makes your belly happy.π

Cute cafe. I ordered the Cafe con leche, the base is sweet so no extra sweetener needed. Super yummy! My husband ordered a Cortado (expresso and milk) he also took the sweet base. He loved it! Orange scone was delicious! Staff was friend. Place was clean. Cute ambiance. Coming back for sure!

Picked this establishment on a whim and from first taste, it was evident that FLAVOR comes first here! We were shocked. Family run and owned, the careful control of flavor is no more evident than in their house sauce of garlic and cilantro. It is perfect and I would put it on everything but sweet pastries! I have never had a Cuban sandwich like theirs. The chicken empanadas were breathtaking. The stuffed potato balls are delicious. The sweet empanadas are almost as good as the savories. Perfect French fries. The daughter mans the counter and her dad is in the kitchen. A perfect meal! Cuban sodas are on offer. DO NOT MISS THIS EXPERIENCE!!!
